We all want to be more productive, so get planting! The higher level of concentration can be credited to the plants ability to reduce excess carbon dioxide in the air.

NGIA Australia says that introducing plants to your working environment reduces stress. In a study they conducted in 2010, they found the following:
Tension/Anxiety – 37% reduction
Depression/Dejection – 58% reduction
Anger/Hostility – 44% reduction
Fatigue – 38% reduction

Most of us will agree that being surrounded by greenery makes our day more pleasant. It can turn a concrete prison into a space that subconsciously will make us feel free. And on top of employees feeling more relaxed, our clients will love the environment too.

A lesser known advantage of plants is that they help reduce ambient noise by as much as 5 decibels. This will help us all concentrate more.

This week our chosen inspiration is the Airbnb International Offices.
Airbnb’s offices are all intended to reflect the online rental company’s ‘belong anywhere’ ethos, and each interior has been created in collaboration with local design studios. The offices feature areas modeled on Airbnb apartment listings from around the world and include a variety of adaptable spaces.

Upstart Office was recently appointed to furnish the new Advanced Health Hospital in Panorama. Working closely with interior designers WRKSHP, this is the second hospital to be completed in this year.
The new look and feel of the hospital moves to take it away from the lifeless atmosphere traditionally found in hospitals. This has often created a sense of dread when visiting a doctor, so it was important to create an updated space that promotes positivity and good energy.
Our newly renovated showroom at the Old Biscuit Mill in the Heart of the design hub of Woodstock in Cape Town, acts as a living testament to adaptable, user-focused design. The space is a presentation of our broad range of product and demonstrates fresh ideas in modern office concepts.
